“Ben LUc. Got back this afternoon. Jackson is nothing now but a level piece of land… When we got back the club had been closed down, so we couldn’t get drunk. It stays closed until July 4. There was a fight there while we were gone, and someone took a poke at the battalion XO, a major. July 4th we are suppose to have a big beer bust and steak fry. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were the platoon that went out that night…”
