“Near FSB Gettysburg. …I have been out in the field since the 2nd [I was choppered out with supplies to the platoon in the field, where they were sitting somewhere near the Cambodian border. I was told to piss on the east side of the position, as if I pissed on the west side I would be violating an international border. Some suspected we were already in Cambodia. ]…They have several companies here on the border, hoping the ARVN’s would drive the enemy across… The LT laughed at me when I got back and said ‘here’s the man who got the Purple Heart before he got a CIB.’ [at least he didn't say FNG]“
