The Memorial Service

This forum was created for information about the very successful first battalion stand alone reunion in June of 2015. It remains to remember the success and perhaps to encourage planning of another such reunion in the future.

The Memorial Service

Postby Niner Alpha » Sun May 03, 2015 12:21 pm

It's been mentioned in the news emails several times but to leave a note in the forums I'm posting this.

There will be a Memorial event at the Starlite Theatre on Saturday June 6, 2015. Former 2nd Platoon Leader, Alpha Company late 69 and into 1970, Mike Moynahan, will orchestrate and conduct the proceedings. He is now an ordained minister. Chaplain Bill Burns , the battalion Chaplain from 69 and into 70 will also be there assisting and Col Jack Logan will offer a few words as part of the ceremony. This will take place, as of now, at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning. The location is within sight of the Angel Inn By the Strip hotel.

The purpose of this service is to remember both those we served with who died in the combat of Vietnam as well as the many of our brothers in arms that have died since. A full list of all those who have passed on, that we are aware of, will be evident at the ceremony and there will be thoughts shared and words said speaking to the memory of those who have passed on.

Br sure to put it on the list as the one thing you must do in Branson during the reunion.

This event is in keeping with the overall vacation theme of the reunion and no formal dress is needed. Leave your coat and tie at home. You won't need one at the memorial service.
