Traveling in Virginia

Postby Ron » Sat May 05, 2012 6:42 pm

This past April Jan and I took a trip to VA to enjoy some warmer weather along with taking in the scenic countryside around Spotsylvania & Fredericksburg area. We grew up hearing all about the War Between the States and reading about our famous presidents and having 2 weeks to sightsee we did tours of Monticello, George Washington's boyhood farm as well as famous battle locations around Fredericksburg. Not enough room to paste all the pictures from this posting so I'll just do the Fredericksburg, VA area.

Thanks for posting the photos, Ron.

No wonder the South lost....their White House wasn't dramatic enough. Of course the original seat of the Confederacy was in Montgomery, Alabama. I'll have to look it up but I think Jeff Davis lived in a hotel when he was there.

Looked it up... there was a first Confederate White House in Montgomery.
