Latest about the current Regiment reunion

Postby Niner Alpha » Thu Aug 06, 2009 10:50 pm

Jim Tierney sent me this update:

Here is the scoop -- based on the last registration list we have a total of 46 men from the 6-31 attending with 29 guests attached to those 46 -- grand total of 75 6-31 attendees

Company numbers are as follows:

Alpha 9.....10
Bravo 5...... 3
Charlie 14........7
Delta 13.......8
Echo 2...... 0
HHC 3........1

For other eras I have 29 attendees with 26 guests.

There are a few people not on the registration list that I know to be attending as well.

Also, expect that this year there will be a number of the active duty 4-31 in attendance based
on emails I have received from people at Ft. Drum

The attendance trophy

Postby Niner Alpha » Fri Aug 07, 2009 9:33 am

Looks like a close race this year between Charlie and Delta.

Now the question is, do people related to vets in attendance count in the totals per company? Maybe in the case of a tie?

Stay tuned for further news on this topic.

I should have put this photo in the collage...but since Alpha has always been an also ran I wasn't thinking of it.

Trophy Holder

Postby Ron » Fri Aug 07, 2009 7:56 pm

Here's another question relating to the regimental trophy:
What might happen if whomever has possesion of the trophy suddenly passes away or a crisis is encountered and there's no family member around? Does the trophy have an attached letter with it stating whom to contact if such a situation may arise? Has anything been written covering this possible situation and where the copy is kept?
We're now in that age group and I would hate if this piece of art would become lost in the shuffle of family matters! :(

Just a passing thought! :o

Well....it's underway

If somebody there is reading this, and has a laptop, would you please let us know the body count by company? It would be appreciated. A certain party, that will remain nameless, is really interested to know. And it isn't me.

DC Reunion

Postby Delta75 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 7:51 am

We had 32 men and 32 guests for a total of 64 at the DC 3rd Platoon Reunion.

The Ft Drum reunion appears to have had 52 6/31st men with 28 guests for a 6/31st total of 80. It appears that C Company won the trophy with ~18 men while Delta Company had ~13 men.

So where is the trophy now? Who is it going to be presented to from Charlie Company to act as caretaker until Delta wins it back?

Charlie Co has the trophy - presented to CPT Bill Owen who accepted it with CPT George Mauldin and long time member Noah Halfacre.

Trophy

Postby Delta75 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:21 am

Yes...correct...the 6/31st High Attendance trophy is awarded, in a brief ceremony, at each reunion (usually on the 2nd day), to the 6/31st Company having the most men in attendance. As stated in a prior input, guests are not included in the count, and there is no official "tie-breaker" presently identified.

Reunion 2010 Reno

Postby TimMiller » Sat Sep 26, 2009 11:23 pm

My brothers of delta co. I believe it is time to get that trophy back
where it belongs to Delta. 2010 is the year to step up an be counted,
I will personally put up a special trophy to the platoon in delta who
has the most members that show up at the Reno Reunion. I belive
that secound platoon will win this trophy. It will be a trophy that will
be able to keep going year after year.if there is a tye then we will put
both patoons on it. so get out there and get your brothers going. Tim

Delta Trophy

Postby Delta75 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:04 am

Tim......."when" Delta wins the 6/31st High Attendance Trophy at the 2010 Reunion, it will be 3rd platoon's turn to take it home. Since we have at least two 3rd platoon men who deserve to be taking a trophy back home, 3rd platoon "winning" this new Delta High Attendance trophy will make it much easier. Now both of these men can carry a trophy back home.

THE TROPHY.....

Postby The Pelion Kid » Sat Oct 03, 2009 8:34 pm

I personally don't care who takes home the trophy just so it's from Delta...But there is no doubt in my mind that third platoon will be the high rollers at this reunion..Nuff said..
