Did I ever tell you about my 3 day pass to Vong Tau

This is a forum for the weapons we knew about. It is also a place for remembering the equipment we carried and how and why we carried what we did.

I tend to forget a lot about my little stay in Viet Nam, but I remember well a visit to Vung Tau! Our recon platoon received some recognition from Battallion for a high body and weapons and prisoner count. So he put us in a Chinnok and flew the whole platoon to Vung Tau for some in country R&R! Funny how some memories don't fade!

Here is another picture. I am fresh out of the hospital . Enjoying a little R&R in Tiapei. My fighting weight was around 180. Here I was weighed in that morning at 163. This was like the 3rd day off of a liquid diet. I had to suck all my meals thru a straw.
This girl's name was NaNa. She was my host for the next several days.

Here is my hostess for a few months in Vietnam, and my reason for never taking an R&R. Now my wife...as of 12/26/04.

Jerry have you posted anything about how you found and married your beautiful wife? If so please give me a hint as to where I can find it. If you haven't I'll bet there are more then a few of us who would like to know how it all came about.

How I found My Wife

Postby Delta75 » Mon Apr 10, 2006 7:24 am

Sgt Mike,

Actually there has been alot posted over the last few years, on Robert's website, about how I found my wife, and my trips back to VN starting in 2001. Probably the best overall summary, with pictures, can be found at Emily The Donut Dolly's website. http://www.emilydd.com/index.htm She heard about my story and requested that I write the story up for her website. Here is the link to the portion of her website that contains the story/pictures.

http://www.emilydd.com/Writings/Writing ... _white.htm

If this link is difficult to use....go to Emily's website, select Writings, then select Writings by Others, then select Jerry White.
