Sensory inclusive bars

Postby Niner Alpha » Thu Mar 07, 2019 11:49 am

Yes..... I had to read that article. Seems people with conditions like PTSD are now being made more comfortable in places that before they avoided because they were setting off all sorts of adverse reactions. For instance snip from a story about a Birmingham bar called the Paper Doll:

Kulture City spent weeks training the staff at Paper Doll to recognize the signs of sensory overload. They also equipped the bar with sensory bags that contain noise reducing headphones, fidget toys, and a feelings thermometer. Paper Doll now has signs on the widows and the walls, indicating that it is a “sensory inclusive location.” The bar is also now listed on Kulture City’s mobile app.

And I thought the alcohol that the bar served was the actual solution that people went into bars for in the first place.
