I agree with you Niner......sadly 59,000 died for nothing. When you read the Pentagon Papers you see that Johnson and McNamara knew as early as 1965 that we could not win the war, but they were looking for an "honorable peace". By 1965 we had lost ~2,300 men....therefore we lost another ~57,000 is search for, not a victory, but of an "honorable peace". What a terrible waste of young lives!

Thanks Vern. I was wondering if maybe I was the only one who was going against the grain.

Actually that was Jerry........ Delta75...........

Although I do agree with you guys in that we all knew the VC weren't going to invade our hometown. Any of
us could have gone to Canada, but we didn't. Some of us didn't get drafted, we joined not out of patriotism, but to
avoid getting drafted and what we knew that meant. Lets face it, Viet Nam was a sad situation for all involved.

Well..... except Jerry, he found true love there...... that's something good out of all the bad.... :D

Sorry about that, Vern. I figured it was you answering since you are the only one who usually answers. Should have paid more attention.

Jerry sent me an email .....and yes Jerry, I had had a few drinks. It was only three beers....but....
Sorry I confused you with Vern.
