A history project from Bruce Swander

Bruce Swander is a researcher who has worked in Washington DC. He was the one who did the research that resulted in the Wall Page we have today. He also copied the Battalion logs relating to each casualty through 1969. Only...he has it in paper copies. He sent me this:

> Have an opportunity for you. If you remember - when I lived in DC,
> I went to NARA and copied certain logs that matched up to the KIA's
(through 1969).
> If I sent all of these to you, would you be willing to (or have
> someone) that could scan them in digitally to PDF files? I'm tied up
> on a bunch of other projects and don't have the time...but want to
> make sure they're archived. Looks like a couple hundred pages. If you
> are able to do this let me know and send me your address to UPS them to.

He followed up with this:

Regarding the logs: I had copied
the daily logs for most of the 6/31 KIA's that show where/what/why happened.
Each day is about 7-8 pages. I was looking for someone involved in the
Unit's history that will take the time and scan them into a PDF
format.....then put them on a CD or upload to a cloud for download. I just
don't have the time to do it - and need to get rid of the paper copies. I
figured they're key to the Association and/or of historical importance, and
thought of you. Obviously, I'd like a copy when they're scanned in. If
it's not something you'd want to do - maybe see if anyone else you're in
touch with will do it.

Now here's the deal. We all know the Association is not likely to want to do any of this ....or see any need to retain the information. If more than a half dozen people were still out there that I thought actually cared, I'd do it. But....if this site goes away from lack of interest after the first of the year there would be no point.

Any interest in the project out there?

As you know, I haven't been around for a while, but I find this very interesting.
It's going to be a long, lonely winter coming up and I would be willing to help
scan some of this project if Karl needs any help.
At the very least, I would like to purchase a copy of all the scanned records.
And I do remember talking to Bruce, waaaaaay back when I first started being
interested in the 6/31 site. Got a lot of info from him.
