Another type of stolen valor.....

It seems that the military isn't the only area of stolen valor. One of the 38 Texas Electoral College Electors that will choose the President has stated he will not vote for Trump, even though Texas should give all 38 votes for him. It's called a "faithless elector" and Texas is one of th...

Just noticed that the liner attachments are spot welded, was that even a thing
in the WWI era?? All the other helmets listed on ebay have those attachments riveted onto
the helmet.

Re: Co. K 31st Infantry M.S.T

No way to know the age of the helmet, they used that style right up to the capture at Bataan.
The only thing I could find on the MST that fit that era was "Maintenance Support Team".
As with most things like that on ebay, you can say that it's whatever you want it to be.....

Re: So Trump won anyway

Michael Moore is such a pathetic idiot. One of his points is to have the Democrats constantly say that
Hillery won the popular vote. How will that help?? And it certainly won't change the outcome.

IMHO.... I think many saw her as I did, an evil, lying, political hack that didn't care at all about us, the "common people". She reminded me of the Evil Queen in her castle, that only used her Evil Powers to get more power over the rest of us................. Anyway, it's over now...

Interesting problems with Ford Explorer...

4 months ago I bought a 2014 Ford Explorer Sport, it has the 3.5L V-6 Ecoboost engine and 38,000 miles. One of the reasons I got it was the 365hp, twin turbo-charged, faster than I should ever go, engine.... It is really fun to drive. After having it for a couple of months, one day I pulled...

Re: Is the end in sight for the 31st Association?

Maybe part of the slowdown around here is seasonal, most people seem to spend more time doing other thing than sitting at the keyboard in the summer. When winter drives us back indoors there may be more participation, at least I hope so. I check here every day, but most days there is nothing new an...

Great photos, brings back memories. The lower left photo, why does he have the 9th ID patch on his right sleeve, current unit goes on left side.... 2nd tour maybe?? Re: That "free" windows 10 just had an ujpdate

I tried Win 10 for a while on one of my computers, not horrible but not an improvement over Win 7. The worst part was that you couldn't pick and choose your updates, you get them whether you want them or not. The other bad thing was the web browser, Edge I think it is called, but you can easily swi...

I didn't know about the Jewish tradition. "Leaving coins on the headstones of those who served in the Military, especially those who died in combat, dates back at least as far as the Roman Empire." ......From The Military Salute Project webpage. That seems to be the general opinion. But i...

I think that is a very common thing at memorials, there is a warehouse full of things that have been left at the black wall VN memorial in DC. Like all the flowers people leave at the scene of a tragedy, I remember on the news all the flowers left outside the palace when Princess Di died. No idea w...

I never worked in FDC, but maybe marking the exact distance between his location and the battery, on the
edge of the sheet of paper and then laying it on the grid lines of the map to see the distance??
Of course, it would depend on the size of the wall map.

He may not "suggesting" that it is the compass in your photo, but by lack of explanation, it does seem to imply it's the same compass. Just another typical ebay seller skirting around the details by letting the buyer make assumptions. Have bought over 800 items on ebay and seen all kinds ...
