Re: Delta company made the Ken Burns epic

I haven't seen this episode yet. Any idea where this was.....Dong Tam..Vinh Kim...FB Moore...??
I was with Delta by then, but don't remember any camera men. Except maybe once at Vinh Kim.

Re: 9th div. = War crimes - according to lead magazine article

I'm only up to episode 6, but so far it seems there is a lot more about the Marines than about Army. According to the National Archives web site........ Army deaths - 38,224 Marine deaths - 14,884 And according to americanwarlibrary.com....... Army served in RVN - 1,407,000 Marines served in RVN - ...

Re: The draft lottery

Yes, 232 would not be drafted. But you said 231 was the last number drafted, but if you put in
Sept 24 (195) it says you would be drafted, then put in Oct 24 (196) you would NOT be drafted.
So it seems 195 was the last number drafted, not 231. That's what I meant......

Re: The draft lottery

Seems like I would have been drafted, my number was 194. Although some sources say the last number drafted was 194, and others say 195. This was for men born between 1-1-'44 and 12-31-'50. So I would have been one of the last drafted. I think Robert's 231 number may not be correct, according to the...

Re: Anybody watching that Ken Burns Vietnam War history?

I have really enjoyed all the Ken Burns projects, this one seems to be as good as the rest so far. Some episodes are 1.5 hours and some 2 hours long. If you are one to watch tv on your computer or hook your computer to your tv, below is a link to PBS to watch the first 5 episodes now and the rest o...

I don't have any copy of orders, but an "Air Medal" is listed with the other medals on my DD214. And on the other hand, I have copies of orders for 3 ArComs, and only one listed on my DD214, because they have my Social Security number wrong on 2 of the orders. They listed both SS number a...

I never met Robert in VN, don't think our time there overlapped, plus we were attached to different companies, and assigned to different Artillery Battalions. MEMORIAL DAY

Today is the day of remembrance for those that were lost in battle for our country. There isn't much I can say that hasn't been said today in newspapers, tv and concerts around the country. So if you are reading this site, I'm pretty sure that you knew someone that didn't make it home alive. Maybe ...
