What was the layout of Vietnam era dogtags? Did you have your firstname written first and then your surname second and also what other details did it include?

Ammunition.

How much much ammunition were you required to carry for your M16? Also would you have to carry spare ammunition for the M60? Would it just varry depending on the mission or would you have a minimum amount that would always need to carry?

Mine was a vest with huge pockets, not individual pockets for each round. Probably twenty in there, and then another twenty in a couple of bags slung around my neck. Always thought it was makeshift, instead of Army issue??? The 79 had quite a kick. I was taught to keep my thumb on the right side of...

Hi I believe the full auto version of the M1 Carbine was called the M2 Carbine, it had a larger 30 round magazine.
