Re: Photos from someone unknown

Greg Gresh is alive and well and comes to the group skype chats on Thursday nights. Joe, why not give it a try some Thursday night. It's free to join Skype. All you need is a videocam or have a laptop with one already built in. He has an album in the Album under Charlie Company. Maybe he includes a ...

So this is how the joint chief of staff operates in safety mode

So let me get this straight..... if we have a President who is showing signs of being not just dangerous, like all of them have the potential to be, but down right scary to the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, then that said top general can call up China, or Russia, or maybe even Iran or Afghanist...

Re: So now the military commanders try to put some lipstick on a pig they raised.

The AP is now reporting the Drone cover up story as likely true. Biden's people circle the wagons. More lies to follow in all probability to pretend it didn't happen.

We still do Skype 6th of the 31st group chats on Thursday nights

Lately we have a usual group of a half dozen representing Delta, Alpha, and Charlie. If anybody connected to the battalion from Vietnam wants to join just let me know. It isn't hard to join the chat......and it doesn't cost anything. Members join the conversation from all parts of the country and ne...

Re: "Here and there with the 31st Infantry" 1921

The National Infantry Museum never replied. The 31st Regiment Association isn't interested either. Not exactly like I was offering the Holy Grail I admit, but where are you going to find any primary sources for the 31st Infantry? As a former History Major I think this kind of stuff is interesting. N...

Re: So now the military commanders try to put some lipstick on a pig they raised.

So now the dust is settling on that less than heroic retreat. One thing I noticed that the talking heads haven't paid much attention to that is even now being buried deep in news files. That story was the Biden gets pay back at IS for using a self exploding fanatic to blow up a lot of people includi...

So now the military commanders try to put some lipstick on a pig they raised.

For years top generals were singing in harmony the "we got this and are winning" tune at the direction of Presidents waving the baton. Over twenty years some generals graduated on to retirement, or near prison, like Petraeus for passing on secrets to a girl friend writing a book, and other...

The other magazine is at the end of this string. Can't add images to this site any longer without a rebuild....and that's not going to happen.

Re: "Here and there with the 31st Infantry" 1921

Frank Hanner was my Museum contact. His email bounces and may have moved on to something else. I did find an address for contributions of a material sort. I sent this email tonight: Years ago I sent material to Z. Frank Hanner regarding the 6th Battalion of the 31st Infantry when they were active in...

Korean war body of 3/31st soldier identified

Another solder was identified from remains returned by Koreans. He was killed as part of the Chosen Reservoir series of actions during the Korean War. Task Force Faith, as the 31st Regiment 3rd battalion was designated, was largely captured, wounded or killed on a retreat from supporting Marines as ...

The Lord's protection

A flood strikes a small Southern town, where an old pastor sits rocking on his porch when the neighbors pull up with an aluminum fishing boat. They plead for the preacher to get in, but he insists he’ll be fine. “The Lord will take care of me,” he tells them. The water rises. The preacher is on his ...

Re: "Here and there with the 31st Infantry" 1921

There was one more from the same stash. It is the December issue from the same year. I bought that one too and that's coming before long. I think I may offer to give them to the National Infantry museum... if they want them. The last contact I had was from the old Benning Museum and I had sent him a...

I posted the outline of the "new" Army regiment specialization plan under the previous listed link. 1490 enlisted men and 576 of them were "specialists". It also lists...for unknown reason... every NCO in the Regiment.

Re: "Here and there with the 31st Infantry"

It came today. The issue was from a hundred years ago this summer. It was the August-September issue 1921. The first story in it concerned the first five years of the Regiment History. There follows a detailed explanation of the new modern Army configuration compared to the Army of a few years befor...

Re: "Here and there with the 31st Infantry"

Maybe redemption was the wrong word. Being unsupported and fighting until capture in the Philippines wasn't the fault of the Regiment. No mama no papa no Uncle Sam. Being left on their own with no support at the Chosin Reservoir and being nearly wiped out wasn't their fault either. When the 6/31st a...

"Here and there with the 31st Infantry" 1921

I just bought the 1921 August-September Issue of a publication put out by the 31st Regiment in fifth year of its existence. It contains what was, among I don't know what else, what is titled as the Regiment first five year history. It won't be mailed to me until Friday. I dithered over buying it for...

Biden shows his Democratic bonafidi

Biden bombed some people in another show of a President killing people in countries we aren't at war with. No Congressional permission asked, of course. His assumption of power grabbed by Presidents that came before him was all the permission he needed. The Democratic leadership immediately, ignorin...

Re: Another story in "Woke" America involving monuments and bodies too.

Now Juneteenth is a new idea signed into law by President Biden. In the entire US all federal offices, and more and more state offices, will be closed every year to celebrate a date two months after the last significant shots were fired in the Civil War when the former slaves in Galveston Texas were...

Another story in "Woke" America involving monuments and bodies too.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was arguably the most talented general on either side in the Civil War. However, Memphis Tennessee has decided to evict not only his statue but his body as well. His remains are going to be replanted outside of Memphis. Memphis, being a majority black city, gets belated reveng...

In Iran there was an election and one thing caught my eye

It was pretty much a win for the side more unlikely to do any calm diplomatic negotiating with the West over nuclear development going forward. The more liberal candidates were removed from consideration to begin with and it was down to choice between flaming firebrands and warming firebrands. Howev...
