Randy, that is a touching comment. Sometimes I think this site has no purpose any longer. I pinned your message to the top of each forum to remind myself that maybe it does.

Re: There was server failure recently

Got a bogus email today saying the site had been hacked and that I had to remake my password. If anybody gets one of those it was not from me. The site wasn't hacked and nobody has to change their password. The problem was with a server and with the format of this board being not up to date. Don't a...

Re: Armour Wilcox and ebay

Seller says he bought the album off of ebay several years ago. In a way it's just photo trash left by somebody few knew or remember, but in another way, it's all that remains as evidence of whoever that young kid was. Perhaps ominously, it suggests that there isn't anything left of his family either...

Armour Wilcox and ebay

Armour Wilcox was an E5 in Alpha Company on December 8, 1968 when he was killed by small arms fire. Nobody in the Wall page has remembered him. However, there is a listing on ebay right now. Seems to be his photo album from Vietnam, complete with a small town newspaper obituary and a copy of a hando...

Re: There was server failure recently

To prevent confusion, I deleted several posts in this string. Some of those posts stated that the site was coming to an end because of major corruption to the message board functions and no more money to throw at repair. However, a new course is going to be attempted to make repairs at no dollar cos...

So you think the US states follow and believe in the Constitution?

The First Amendment says: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. So where do you get your world news?

TV news is usually either too abbreviated or slanted in one way or the other to suit me...usually either bashing Trump for something, or in the case of the right wing sources, praising him for some of the same things with little to no exposition as to why in either case. The online stuff is often be...

There was server failure recently

You will notice lots of error message repeats in some of the forums. The site was transferred to a new server the first of the week because of a catastrophic server failure and in the transfer errors occurred in the message board and new image uploads. This also took out some site features and contr...

Re: July 30, 1969

At the end of March 1970, when the Brigade had been acting alone for seven or eight months there was a Brigade change of command ceremony. Notice there is a line drawn between the 3rd Brigade as 9th Division and the 25th Division which the brigade is under and takes the highest operational control f...

The first and second Brigades were on their way to non existence as part of the Nixon smoke and mirrors we are winning the war and turning it over to the Arvins routine. I got into a discussion with someone on a facebook site that insisted the 9th Division was totally deactivated and that the 3rd br...

Re: Arguments I get into on facebook

You are right Vern. It's crazy to get into any argument with someone you don't even know about what is, most of the time, something you could care less about normally. I deleted my membership in that 9th Division facebook page just for good measure.

Arguments I get into on facebook

I know I should know better. When I see something that I want to comment on that isn't total agreement I often end up in a back and forth over it. And I know I generally never completely agree with anybody about anything and enjoy debating without really giving a crap about what. It's a fault I'm aw...

Re: The not living up to our values world

Hey Vern, looks like the Mexican president is going to help Trump out. Hard to really believe that. I thought they hated each other over who is going to pay for Trump's wall. The Mexican Presidente is offering that group of walking evacuation zombies from further south a job and public assistance an...

The not living up to our values world

That "not up to our values" thing is pretty prevalent now days. I read yesterday a professor got into deep trouble for refusing to give a student a letter of recommendation to get into a University in Israel out of sympathy for a movement to boycott Israel because of the Palestinian thing....

Saturation Ambush in late 69

I ran across this Army report on the 3rd Brigade of the 9th for operations and lessons learned over what looks like to be from November 1, 69 to the end of January of 1970. One of the tactical notions that had been evolved to was "saturation" ambush operations. That and day time air mobile...

Re: The opening page image over the years collected

None of the images are in chronological order. Notice also the two opening pages advertising a reunion in Nashville that, after running into a stone wall, was changed to Branson. It was really lucky, looking back, that every place in Nashville willing to give us a quote for the reunion was also out ...

The opening page image over the years collected

I went looking for old opening page images over the years. I changed them out about once a month as a general rule. Most of them highlighted one guy's album or the other. Some, lots actually, as I look at what I just posted, had something to do with the Branson Reunion even long after it was over. M...

The Republican Presidents painting on Trump's wall

This is just too hard to believe. Trump has this painting in the White House. Wonder if he has a velvet Elvis painting to go with it....or the famous one with the dogs playing poker. Looks like Teddy cut one and Trump smelled it and all the rest of the Presidents laugh. https://www.theguardian.com/c...

I picked some photos from Alpha albums that I kinda had stuck in my head for one reason or the other. They are from ..in no particular order of importance: Ron Madewell, Jim Tierney, Rick Akers, John Bullock, Mike Kirby, Mirl Hollabaugh and myself...Robert Stewart
